Jo Clarke PhD, C.Psychol., AFBPsS, EuroPsy

Founder and Director

With over two decades as a forensic psychologist in the criminal justice system, Jo’s work has centred on resilience—both for individuals and the organisations they serve. Her PhD explored how criminal justice staff navigate roles that expose them to potential trauma, shaping her commitment to applying research-driven strategies that enhance psychological well-being.

 
 

 

Laura Vialle

Business Manager
 
Laura is the organisational powerhouse behind Petros, ensuring the smooth running of training, events, course logistics, and business operations. As Business Manager, she plays a vital role in coordinating projects, managing diaries, and overseeing communications, making sure everything runs seamlessly behind the scenes.

With a keen eye for detail and a natural ability to bring order to complex schedules, Laura keeps the team on track and deadlines met. She is the first point of contact for many clients, ensuring that training programmes and events are organised efficiently and that clients receive outstanding support. Her role also extends into marketing and communications, where she helps strengthen Petros' public presence and engagement.
 
 
 

 

Laura Bowden

Principal Consultant
 
Laura is a highly experienced psychologist, trainer, and consultant with a background in forensic and organisational psychology. As Principal Consultant at Petros, she plays a key role in research, training, supervision, and strategic consultancy, working across various sectors to support individuals and organisations in complex roles.
 
 
 

 

Madison Clarke MA

Project Manager & Safeguarding Lead

As Project Manager & Safeguarding Lead at Petros, Madison oversees safeguarding initiatives across education, religious organisations, and other sectors. She works closely with clients to develop evidence-based policies that ensure the protection and well-being of children and adults.

 
 

 

Di Gammage MA

Core Process Psychotherapist, UKCP

With 25 years' experience in trauma and abuse therapy, Di is a qualified drama therapist and play therapist. She was invited onto the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) Child Register via the Northern School of Child Psychotherapy, recognising her clinical expertise and published work in child therapy.

 

 

Maxine Daniels DPsych., BSc (Hons)

Senior Trainer, UKCP Registered Psychotherapist
 
Maxine is an Independent Consultant and Clinical Supervisor, working with the NHS, Broadmoor Hospital, Elysium Healthcare, and the Priory Group. She earned her Doctorate in Psychotherapy from Metanoia/Middlesex University in 2012.
 
 

 

Mark Campion

Mark began his career in interior design in the early 80s but found his true calling in Her Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS), where he gained over 30 years of experience. Starting as a front-line staff member, Mark later became a wellbeing manager, supporting staff working in some of the most challenging prison environments.

 

 

Ed Simpson

Ed joined the Police Service in 1995, initially working for West Yorkshire Police in his hometown of Bradford, before transferring to North Yorkshire Police in 2003. Ed then remained at North Yorkshire Police until his retirement in 2016 on medical grounds, following a prolonged battle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and depression.

 

 

Matthew Gammage

As a qualified workplace mediator, Matthew helps individuals and organisations navigate conflict, fostering effective communication and preventing the personal and professional costs of deteriorating relationships.

 

 

Dr. Marcus Pound

Associate Professor of Theology & Assistant Director, Centre for Catholic Studies, Durham University

Marcus is an Associate Professor of Theology and Assistant Director of the Centre for Catholic Studies at Durham University.

His research sits at the intersection of theology, psychoanalysis, and continental philosophy, with a focus on trauma studies and safeguarding.

 

 

Donald Findlater

Child Safeguarding Consultant

Donald is a highly respected child safeguarding consultant with decades of experience in child protection, offender rehabilitation, and abuse prevention. He served as a Director at the Lucy Faithfull Foundation (LFF) from 2002 to March 2024, playing a key role in national and international child sexual abuse prevention initiatives.

 

Anjum Mouj

Anjum is an expert in unconscious bias, diversity, inclusion, and belonging, bringing an intersectional approach to safeguarding. Passionate about protecting the most vulnerable, she has worked in safeguarding for over 30 years, delivering consultancy, training, and strategic reviews across a wide range of sectors.

 
 
 

Dr. R. Karl Hanson

Karl is a leading expert in risk assessment and treatment for individuals with a history of sexual offending. He has significantly contributed to the development of actuarial risk assessment tools, including Static-99R, Static-2002R, STABLE-2007, and ACUTE-2007, which are widely used in forensic settings worldwide.

 

Isabelle King

Isabelle is a seasoned safeguarding professional with over 30 years of experience in operational and strategic leadership. Specialising in Safeguarding, Prevent, and youth engagement, she has made significant contributions to workforce development and the protection of vulnerable individuals.

 
 

Sandra Stark

Sandra is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of experience in health and social care, specialising in eldercare safeguarding. She holds an MBA in healthcare management and has served in senior roles, including Managing Director of Retirement Living, Director of Nursing, and Director of Clinical Governance for major organisations such as Bupa and Avery Healthcare.

 
 

Jenny Terry

Research & Development Consultant
 
Jenny is a conscientious psychological researcher with a decade of experience designing, managing, and delivering collaborative research projects. As Research & Development Consultant at Petros, she applies her expertise in quantitative methods, statistical analysis (R), and applied psychometrics to develop a workplace resilience measurement tool.
