Training on Grooming

Grooming is a serious safeguarding concern that involves building a relationship of trust with a child or vulnerable adult to exploit or abuse them.

It can occur in person or online, making awareness and vigilance essential.

Petros provides specialist training to help professionals recognise the warning signs and tactics used by groomers. This includes understanding the psychological manipulation involved and how perpetrators gradually gain control over their victims.

Our training covers the different environments where grooming can take place, including schools, sports clubs, faith communities and online platforms. We explore how technology can be misused to facilitate grooming and the importance of safe digital practices.

Participants learn how to identify risk factors and behavioural indicators in both victims and perpetrators. We also emphasise effective intervention strategies, appropriate reporting procedures, and the role of multi-agency cooperation.

By equipping organisations with this knowledge, Petros supports the creation of safer spaces where grooming behaviours are promptly identified and challenged, reducing the risk of abuse and harm.
